​The Municipality apologises to all customers affected by the prolonged power outages in Bluff, Woodlands, Montclair and surrounding areas between Friday evening, 13/01/12 and Monday, 16/01/12.

Due to multiple cable faults affecting the electricity supply which caused power outages in the southern region, additional teams were called in to assist during the weekend to restore supply and power to certain substations. Substations were being restored from as early as 3:00 am on Saturday morning until approximately 11:00 am on Sunday.

Yesterday’s, 16/01/12, 11 kV cable fault between Fynnlands Major and Donegal/Lighthouse was totally independent of the weekend’s outages. The power was restored by 9:30am and the back-up supply was brought on line by lunch time yesterday.Most circuits are currently repaired and electricity supply has now been restored to all customers.
